Hong Kong Toys Council, under the auspices of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, has been dedicated for more than 20 years, to promoting the development of the local toy industry and safeguarding its benefits.  During the global financial crisis and recall incidents which devastated our business environment, the Council has been ready to shoulder a particularly important role to reflect the views and needs of the toy industry to the various local and overseas authorities. As a result of members' and local governments’ support, recalls have been successfully diminished despite the ever-tightening product safety regulations in Europe and the United States. This affirms our faith that Hong Kong toys are “Toys to Trust”.

Nevertheless, product quality must not be neglected and getting well prepared for the new safety standards that are exerting big influence on the ever changing market, becomes our main theme. The Council will organize a variety of training, seminars and workshops etc as we have done in the past, to assist our members to master first hand information and technology upgrade. Also, we must bring in more new ideas and innovative talents to promote our industry’s sustainability and to ensure the healthy growth of our next generation.

“One Industry, One Mission”. Looking into the future, our belief is that with every member in the supply chain united, more quality toys designed and produced, we will increase our business and bring more happiness to children. In keeping with this we have for the past few years organized the Hong Kong International Toys Festival with The Toys Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong and supported by the HKSAR Government. Through this Festival our aim is to revitalize Hong Kong’s reputation as the “World’s Toy Centre” and underline our determination for industry unity.

As the current Chairman of the Hong Kong Toys Council, I wish to express my thanks to all previous Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen, Executive Committees and members for their selfless contributions. The leadership of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries is also appreciated and I will make every effort to embrace the Council’s mission in fostering members’ interests.
